Gliding in the Drakensberg

Here are some photos taken of gliders in the Drakensberg. Soaring conditions in Autumn are really good and, as you can see, the mountains have already had a dusting of snow. The airfield here is at 5,000ft and the Drakensberg range of mountains is on average 10,000ft high. This club is a private club, but there are annual gliding camps held in this area, which are open to visitors.

Landrover G4 Challenge

The Land Rover G4 Challenge is the ultimate adventure driving and adrenaline sports competition. This exciting event not only tests physical strength, but also mental and strategic talents and teamwork. National selections take place first and are then followed by a gruelling Challenge Final, where teams of two from each of the 18 nations represented, compete against each other.

Last year's winner, Martin Dreyer (South Africa) had this to say about the event,

" I can't imagine anything else ever comparing with the challenge. The vast spaces, the camaraderie, the competition, the focus - it really is life-changing."

World Record Canopy Formation

In November last year, a group of skydivers got together to set a new canopy formation record. The stack was made in the shape of a diamond and the video below is a mini-documentary put together by Paul Zadie. The visuals are absolutely awesome - this truly is a magnificent feat!!

Friends Come and Go :)

This clever advert starts off with visuals of kite-surfing and ends with a tongue-hanging-out twist!! Thank goodness for video editing / CGI - I don't think any stuntmen would have nominated themselves for this one...
