Hanggliding in South Africa
Hang Gliding is a popular sport in South Africa. Whilst not as popular as Paragliding, there are still many places where you can do a tandem flight, or learn to Glide.
This shot was taken in 1998 and shows a pilot taken off from the summit of the Magaliesberg, about an hour from Johannesburg. This is a popular area for Paragliding and Gliding as well and the conditions in Summer are ideal for long distance, cross-country flights.
