Shark Spotters

Ever since running a blog post some days ago about the hoax e-mail doing the rounds pertaining to the Great White Shark that was supposedly spotted at Fish Hoek on the 25th of October, I have spent quit a bit of time on the Shark Spotters website.

That is where I got my information from and discovered that the photo supporting the e-mail was in fact two years old. Nonetheless, it still concerned me that a great white shark can be hovering around so so close to the shore, the kind of thing some think only exists in bad movies.

My cousin Andy who lives in Fish Hoek and is a huge diving enthusiast, informs me that some of the guys he knows dive in the hope of seeing them, and that although the divers in False Bay do always pay the creatures the respect they deserve, they don’t live in fear of them.

I on the other hand saw Jaws 3 in 3D as a child and let’s just say it had a lasting affect on me. I do when it comes to Sharks like to be informed and don’t like leaving things to chance. If you’re like me and are interested in knowing where the Sharks on the Cape coast are, www.sharkspotters.com is a great site to visit.
